Basic Rules and Regulations
- All participating teams MUST complete their registration before the deadline of Sep 5, 2024.
- All participating teams are obligated to adhere to the Saint John Malayali Association Vadamvali Rules and Regulations.
- It is the responsibility of each team to refrain from using tactics that could lead to injuries.
- If a serious injury occurs, the respective team is responsible for taking necessary actions to ensure the well-being of each player.
- The organizing Committee Members will not be held accountable for any type of loss, including personal injury and the safety of participating teams or individuals.
- The tournament committee of SJMAS reserves the right to modify any of the following rules on the day of the tournament to accommodate unforeseen circumstances and maintain the integrity of the tournament.
- The use of spiked shoes is prohibited in the tournament.
- In the event of any foul play, the tournament officials will have full discretion to decide the appropriate course of action, which may also result in the disqualification of the respective teams.
- Each team is allowed to designate only one representative as a spokesperson to communicate with the Tournament Officials.
- Any undesirable incidents or consequences must be avoided.
- The game will most likely be played on a grass field, flat concrete, tar field, or indoor venue. However, the tournament officials reserve the right to make changes under unavoidable circumstances.
- The decision of the Main Referee will be final and binding.

Key Rules
- The weighing will be performed 10-15mins before each league match.
- Each team must appoint one of their nominated members to be present on-site and verify the weights of other teams.
- No appeals will be allowed after the weight of a particular team is finalized.
Class 'A' Rule
- The maximum team weight is 600 kilograms for men.
- The number of team players - A maximum of 7
- The number of teams - A maximum of 8 teams and a minimum of 4 teams.
Substitutes (Class ‘A’ Rule)
- Substitute is allowed, provided the overall weight of the team does not exceed 600 kg for men and 450 kg for women.
- Substitution will be permitted at the discretion of the tournament officials, only after verifying the replacing member's physical inability to continue in the tournament.
Game Officials
- *A main referee and linesmen will be assigned for all games in the tournament.
Tournament Fixtures
- During the league stages, there will be only 1 match for each game.
- Knockout games will be best of three.
